An integrated approach across the entire infrastructure lifecycle.

Our business provides a full suite of solutions — from finance and funding access, feasibility, technical deal support, tax and accounting services, engineering support, deal structuring, risk mitigation, tender management and commercial and financial close, through to asset assessment, outsourced services, asset management and lifecycle optimisation.

Our services draw on relationships with global finance partners and proven alliance partners — ensuring we can move from identification, to close, to long-term performance without the typical gaps.

Synthesis Global partners with government and the private sector to realise successful project outcomes. We bring global capability to local projects to ensure assets are highly optimised, risk‑managed, and deliver certainty and value for money through our partnership approach.

Our work also drives outcomes aligned with the objectives of organisations such as the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank — organisations that play a critical role in infrastructure delivery.

Two complementary pillars, one integrated partner.

We bring infrastructure projects to life from concept and close through to operation and performance — combining transaction expertise with asset lifecycle delivery.

The opportunity, the problem, and how we help.

PPPs are a preferred method of infrastructure delivery — best equipped to address the funding gaps facing governments and institutions globally.

Opportunity

  • The need for infrastructure across the globe to support social and economic development is substantial and growing.
  • PPPs are a preferred method of infrastructure delivery, best equipped to address funding gaps.

The Problem

  • Investment funding is available — but without suitable structures in place, that availability isn't converting into closed transactions.
  • There is a gap between infrastructure investment requirements and expertise in deal development.

How we help

  • External funding solutions
  • Social infrastructure facility optimisation — public and private assets
  • Strategy and deal integration
  • Cost optimisation: fixed and variable cost value maximisation
  • Transaction consulting
  • Outsourced project management

Matching national priorities with international funding.

Synthesis Global's focus is to help address global infrastructure needs by facilitating transactions — matching national infrastructure priorities with the international funding available for these types of investments.

Ultimately, we are enablers — we help make projects happen.

We have the resources and expertise to facilitate national and international transactions. Our relationships with proven global funding organisations ensure funding is available once potential transactions are identified and agreed.

The scale of Asia's infrastructure opportunity.

Asia's infrastructure requirement is an investment of US$1.7 trillion annually through to 2030. This investment is necessary to maintain growth, reduce poverty and combat climate change.

World Bank 2017 PPI Findings

  • US$36.7B in investment commitments across energy, transport and water in low and middle-income countries.
  • 132 projects financed, with an average project size of US$278 million.
  • East Asia and the Pacific received the highest level of PPI investment — overtaking Latin America and the Caribbean for the first time.
  • Indonesia was the largest recipient at US$7.8 billion.
  • 75% of projects were debt financed; 79% of debt raised from international sources.
  • Energy sector received ~75% of H1 2017 funding; 83% of energy projects were in renewables.
  • Per the ADB, doubling PPP investment from 0.5% to 1.0% of GDP could deliver safe drinking water to 12M people and electricity to 14M people currently without.
